Exploding the Myths around Orthodontics
Ok, let’s just go ahead and get it out of the way. That stereotypical image of the brace wearer perpetuated by an endless list of movies and TV shows—the awkward middle-schooler with a mouth full of metal brackets. It’s images like this that have discouraged many people from getting the orthodontic care they need. That’s why we thought we’d take a few moments to address some of the most common misconceptions about braces… and put that “brace face” image to rest!
Braces are for kids. Sure, teenagers may be frequent visitors to the orthodontist, but adults represent a rapidly growing number of orthodontic patients. People of all ages can benefit from orthodontic interventions to identify and correct issues with their teeth, jaw and bite.
Metal braces are my your choice. Oh, how times have changed. Advances in orthodontic technology have greatly improved braces and other appliances to make them much less noticeable than traditional braces. , for example, can be a great solution, using removable aligners to straighten teeth.
Orthodontics is only for crooked teeth. While that may be a reason a lot of people come to the orthodontist, it’s certainly not the only one. Orthodontic s can help with a number of health problems like missing teeth, overbites, jaw misalignment and more.
Orthodontic s are too expensive. Like any other medical procedure, orthodontics can be pricey.
