COVID-19 Safety Protocols

Dear Valued Patients,

Thank you so much for your patience during our practice reopening. We have the best patients in the world and it’s because of you that we have done what is necessary to keep you and our team safe since our reopening.  To view a list of the modifications we have made to our office and processes, click here.

Our schedule has been significantly modified so that only private chairs can be used for removing bonding material or attachments from teeth and the non-aerosol-procedure chairs have been limited in number to ensure proper distancing. If you or your child has a loose or broken brace or Invisalign attachment, please let us know in advance as we may have to reschedule the appointment in the appropriate chair.

We’ve also increased the time between appointments to allow for proper sanitizing of each work area and to allow team members to change PPE between patients.

Very important.  Please be aware of our new appointment protocol:

  • The parking lot will now be our waiting room.
  • The tooth brushing area is closed. Please brush and floss thoroughly at home before leaving and rinse with Listerine or peroxide.
  • Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early for your appointment. If you are late, we may have to reschedule.
  • When you arrive, please text the office at 502-897-1112You will either be told to come up or asked to wait a few minutes if the patient chair is not available; we will then text you when it’s time to come up. Do not enter the building without approval from our office.
    • Please—only the patient should come upstairs to the office unless it is a consultation or other reasons—but in those cases, only one companion, please.
  • Wearing a mask is mandatory for everyone to come into the office.
    • Patients must wear their mask unless they are in the chair.
  • Entry & exit protocol is to prevent groupings of people in the main lobby.
    • Enter the office up the stairwell UNLESS taking the elevator is necessary.
    • Exit will be down the elevator.
  • Upon entering the 2nd floor foyer, you will be greeted by our Patient Health Coordinator
    • She will ask the following questions of the patient and, if applicable, to a companion:
      • Do you have a fever or have you felt hot or feverish within the past 21 days?
      • Are you having shortness of breath or difficulty breathing?
      • Do you have a cough?
      • Any other flu-like symptoms, such as headache or fatigue?
      • Have you experienced recent loss of taste or smell?
      • Have you been in contact with any confirmed COVID-19 positive patients?
      • Have you traveled in the past 14 days to any states or regions from which the governor has recommended a quarantine?
    • Our PHC will take temperatures of everyone entering the office with a touch-free thermometer
    • Anyone exhibiting a temperature over 100.4 or answering yes to any of the above questions will not be admitted to the office and will be referred to their physicianWe will take into account that many in our area suffer from allergies.
    • Our PHC will then escort the patient to the treatment chair. If someone accompanies the patient, social distancing in the reception room will be required.
  • Minors will be given a paper with a review of the appointment and progress to give to the parents. Please call the assistant or doctor if you wish to have more information about your child’s progress.

Again, thank you for your cooperation. We value you as patients and together we can stay well, be safe and create Greater Smiles!
