Bikes, Mics, and a Greater Smile.
To say 17-year-old Gavin Haley loves cycling might be a bit of an understatement. He started racing competitively when he was ten and his talents on the bike have taken him around the world, most recently as part of the US Cycling Team. He’s placed in several US national championships and competed in Europe three times last year—and he did it all with a great big smile on his face.
“Dr. Goldberg told me awhile back that to be successful two of the most important things are a good attitude and a good smile,” Gavin said. “Because of the smile I’ve gotten from Perelmuter & Goldberg, I just feel better about self—and that gives me the confidence to do anything.”
And when it comes to helping Gavin achieve his dreams, Dr. Goldberg has gone far beyond offering just words.
“He’s one of my favorite people,” Gavin said of Dr. Goldberg. “He’s been involved with cycling for as long as I can remember. He’d have bike rides every week. When I broke my ankle a few years ago, it was Dr. Goldberg that helped me strength train and get back on the bike. I was devastated by the injury, but he made me feel okay with it. And because of him, I was back in competition much sooner than I thought I’d be.”
His appreciation includes the staff at P&G as well.
“Everyone is amazing,” he said. “I feel like I’m friends with the entire team. They’re always smiling and laughing. It’s always fun to go in for an appointment. You really can’t say that about other orthodontists. Everything goes so smooth and they’re always upfront about my . I appreciate that.”
Recently, Gavin has put his focus on a new interest—music.
“I’ve always been involved with music,” he said, “but lately I’ve begun to think that might be what I want to do with my life. And in music image is very important so a great smile goes a long way.”
All of us at Perelmuter & Goldberg wish Gavin good luck in whatever he pursues—and we can’t wait to watch him share his smile with the world!
