Braces & Brackets

Fixed orthodontic appliances (braces) have been used for over 100 years. They have proven to be very effective in aligning teeth, and advances in technology have made braces more efficient, cosmetic and comfortable. The following is a smattering of some orthodontic appliances we frequently employ:

Ceramic Brackets

Ceramic brackets are the esthetic version of conventional braces. The brackets are made of a strong, translucent toothcolored ceramic material which blends in with the teeth. The wires are very thin and not nearly as noticeable when wearing ceramic brackets. They work just like stainless steel braces, which many children prefer because many kids want to show off their braces.

If your treatment requires conventional braces, or you prefer fixed braces over Invisalign, ask Dr. Perelmuter or Dr. Goldberg about this very attractive option.
